We are thrilled to announce the first call for papers for the 3rd International Conference on Resilience and Sustainable Regions (ICRSR 2026)!

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Setúbal, Portugal, the upcoming conference will be hosted by the Polytechnic University of Setúbal - Business School (ESCE) on 29-30 October 2026.

Whether you are presenting a case study, a work in progress, a conceptual paper, or sharing your PhD and Master’s research, we welcome contributions that span the full spectrum from theory to practice.

About the Conference

The ICRSR provides a vibrant forum for reflecting on the future of our territories from both regional and international perspectives. In an era marked by profound economic, social, environmental, and technological transformations, this year’s conference spotlights the critical role of entrepreneurship, innovation, applied technologies, and sustainability. Our goal is to explore how these elements strengthen regional resilience and drive competitive, inclusive development.

Inspired by the guiding pillars of the E³UDRES² alliance and aligned with the research domains of the Polytechnic University of Setúbal’s affiliated centres, ICRSR 2026 champions a multidisciplinary approach. We aim to bridge the gap between knowledge, institutions, and society by bringing together diverse fields—such as social sciences, education, management, and tourism, right alongside technology and engineering.

By gathering participants from across the globe, we hope to foster international cooperation and knowledge exchange, ultimately contributing to regions that are more sustainable, innovative, and socially cohesive.
